So I just want to share what I do when I’m not blogging I work at a marijuana dispensary so there are times when I’m not able to blog because I’m working. Although my goal is to make blogging my full time job where I can make a successful living. Years ago I never thought I would be working at a dispensary but it has changed my mind on marijuana and that is because of the owner who has educated me on the benefits of marijuana and it’s importance. The dispensary is black owned here in DC & the owner educated all the employees so that we could better help the patients that come in. I have worked at many places like fast food restaurants and a sports arena. I was for many years a stay at home mom which I loved and it wasn’t easy but I would not change the years I got to watch my kids grow up. The only thing I didn’t like was when I would say I am a stay at home mom the response I would get is “oh you don’t work” because yes I did work, taking care of kids is a twenty four hour job with no days off. I would hear that response so much that I just stopped saying that I stayed home. I stayed home because it was more economically for us but when I divorced I had to go out and get a job. It took me months before I got a job making minimal wage but at least my kids were in high school so they were able to be at home by themselves. I know my kids appreciated the years I was at home because they told me when I was working long hours and barely home. And now that they are adults they understand how blessed they were to have a mom at home.
So fast forward going from job to job and finally getting a job with benefits but soon after I was laid off and at the same time my husband of nine years decided he no longer wanted to be married so I found myself single and jobless so that’s how the dispensary job came to be.
I was literally starting over but this time I was single but my faith in God remained strong and I knew I would be fine not great but I would make it through this storm. When I started working at the dispensary I only knew what I had been told as a child growing up but thanks to the owner I am better educated about marijuana and its most helpful uses. One of the things I have learned is that marijuana is not a “gateway” drug to other hard drugs. The dispensary that I work at is Legal & you must have a medical marijuana card to buy. It is important that if you shop at a dispensary to make sure it is legal. There are a lot of dispensaries but most are not legal so your flowers could be mixed with other stuff which can be dangerous.
