This past Sunday I was debating on whether or not to attend the DC Defenders game because of the rain and it rained off and on all day. I finally decided to attend and so I traveled on metro to the Navy Yard Station and I first stopped by Walters Sports Bar & Grill and it was crowded so I didn't get a chance to really experience it like I wanted but I did go to there outside tent and ate a half smoke & it was so good because I never had one before that day. The bar is across from Nats Stadium & within walking distance from Audi Field I think it's about two blocks but the walk is a fast one. Once I got to the Audi Field I found out I couldn't take my umbrella in so I went to a vendor outside of of Audi Field & yes I spent ten dollars on a rain poncho and yes I'm holding onto that poncho until the end of time. I am planning on buying a raincoat & boots so next time I will be ready.
I get inside and I again debate on if I should go to my seat which I know will be wet and I just wasn't ready to sit in the rain so I stood within the building that was covered but it was near the field behind where those with VIP Seating sit I did have a really nice guy offer his seat to me but I felt that wouldn't be right because he paid for that. As I'm standing around I met by chance the wife of the defensive or offensive coach still not sure but I do know he is a Defenders Coach and their daughter I was able to take a few pictures. Where I was standing was great I was able to see the game and talk to fans.
This was my first time being a season ticket holder of any sports team and I enjoyed every minute of it and my seat buddies were super awesome. My season ticket representative Austin White has been amazing and I plan to renew for next year.
Although my commute home was filled with packed trains the vibe was good and the DC Defenders won the XFL North Division Championship and they are on their way to play in San Antonio Texas. DC Defenders you got this bring home a W for DMV.
