Tonight I made myself comfortable on my couch instead of my bed to watch Capitals Vs Coyotes. As I was surfing twitter I got a chance to see my favorite twitter band Captastrophies rock out. The Caps wore the reverse retro jersey and it is available for purchase. I made sure I had my snacks near by just in case it wasn’t a good game and I would be in need of comfort. Although tonight would be a big night because the latest gossip around the DMV and amongst the fans was that our Captain Alex Ovechkin #8 would break Gordie Howe’s goal record.
I was so glued to my tv that I was all to happy to see a commercial so I ran to the bathroom and came back in time to see Alex make the record goal and I totally lost it screaming and crying in joy because I was blessed to see history made. For me this was a living in the moment event for me, one I will remember. I was on Twitter just tweeting away my excitement.
As I understood Alex is the only player to make the most goals with a single franchise/ team in the NHL so he made history. So Alex #787th goal has made history.
Of course to my disappointment they lost the game but made history I guess that is the irony that you succeed in one but fail in the other. The Captastrophies did tweet that they were coming back with another song but as I checked before calling it a night I didn’t see it posted.

I just give you a interesting look into what it’s like to be a fan. I hope you’re enjoying reading my take on watching the games. I’m still learning myself about hockey. I wish I had video of the Castastrophies but I will try to get it next time I blog.
One day I will be blessed to see a game live although I am still trying to fulfill my dream of becoming a Capitals Season Ticket Holder and of course I’ll let you know how that goes.
And yes, I ended the night sitting on my bed eating my snacks in disappointment that my team lost but happy that Alex made history.
