The Choreography of the Opera Elektra Eboni Adams the woman in the middle

Last night I had the opportunity to go see an Opera Elektra at the Kennedy Center with my parents and it was such an amazing night filled with beautiful music. Of course it was sung in Italian with subenglish over head. This Opera was the shortest one I’ve seen so far it was about one hour & thirty minutes and no intermission.

So I will give my synopsis of what I saw the play being about it started with Elektra mourning the death of her father Agamemnon and through her tears she makes plan to seek her revenge on her fathers murder. And her sister Chrysothemis tells Elektra of a plan to lock her in the tower and all the while Chrysothemis plans to escape the palace that she believes is cursed so she can start a new life. Now Klytamnestra, the mom, who wants to lock Elektra in the tower is having nightmares so she decides to have a talk with Elektra to find out how to get rid of the nightmares but Elektra before helping ask about when her brother Orest will be able to return from being exiled and then accuses Klytamnestra of trying to have her brother killed. Now there is a heated agument between the two ladies and that’s when Elektra says that Klytamnestra must sacrifice herself for her nightmares to end. Of course that conversation went left with Klytamnestra walking away.

Klytamnestra was told of Orest death but then Orest goes to inform Elektra that he is alive. During all the hooplah Chrysothemis refuses to avenge her fathers death and so Elektra says she will do it. The Opera ends with Orest killing Klytamnestra & Chrysothemis his mother and sister. Elektra who is overjoyed dances herself to death. Yes, it ends with Elektra’s dramatic death.

It was a very good Opera and afterwards they served Champagne 🍾 I wish they would have offered non alcoholic beverage to those who don’t drink. The choreography was amazing.
