Once Upon A Lover’s Time

Once upon a time there was a beauty

She lived among the loved

All day and everyday all she knew was love

Once upon a time there was a brute

This brute lived a hard life

All he knew was manipulation

He never knew love

He never knew of love

She lived a free spirit

He lived a life of confinement

Once upon a time the two met

And without a thought they fell madly in love

His words were so hypnotizing.

That they pledge their souls upon an altar

He encased her heart in a golden box

Days turned to months

Months turned to years

Beauty turned to age

And without a moment hesitation

The brute leaves but not before

Holding beauty’s heart in his hand

And squeezing the very life from it
