The one thing I love to do is people watch so I sit on my front porch in my comfy chair and observe my neighborhood. I see all types of cars and some of the cars are extremely loud which I will never understand why you need such a loud car. I even saw a fender bender but no one was hurt. I can tell who has air conditioning and who doesn’t in there cars. My street is a small one but it’s also very busy, it’s like a short cut everyone takes to get to the highway and to Maryland. You see Maryland is just a skip away from me.
I didn’t realize how many dogs were in the neighborhood and a lot of dog owners don’t clean up behind them which makes it bad for when it’s time to mow the lawn. I’ve also learned that some drivers don’t know how a four way stop works so I’ve seen a few accidents.
Then there is my local corner store who recently got their license to sell hard liquor and of course they put out a hug sign letting everyone know. I can only hope that this doesn’t mean we will have residents hanging around outside all day only time will tell.
I’ve seen my neighbors fight with each other and I’ve even heard conversations that I shouldn’t hear but because they are outside and talking loudly I hear it. We even have a neighborhood prostitute who comes out in the evening to entertain the men who come to indulge in her services. She use to be out all the time but she now only comes out in the evening.
I really feel for those UPS drivers because they have no a/c in those trucks and there are a few that drive down my street along with buses.
Sometimes but not often we have a police cruiser that will park on the side of the street to catch violators of the four way stop.
I really enjoy my front porch because it sits up high so no one really knows I’m sitting outside unless they look up and those that walk by never do.
