I started watching this tv series and the first story they tell is the one about Emmett Till & his murder. So on Thursday I continued watching the series & it bought tears to my eyes what was done to him all because he spoke & waved at a white woman but I did hear someone whistle but I couldn’t tell if Emmett was the one who did it. I have learned some things about Emmett and he wasn’t supposed to be able to do the things he did because his birth was rough and he did have a learning disability. I had always heard stories about what happened to him but to see it has made a lasting impression.
Mamie was a strong woman and had she not been as strong as she was I know nothing would have changed. I felt her pain and her anger .
The woman who lied Carolyn Bryant Donham later said she lied and said her husband at the time was abusive. Her husband Roy Bryant & his half brother were responsible for Emmett death. So Carolyn was never bought to justice. The Emmett Till case was a grotesque miscarriage of justice.
I recommend that everyone watch Women Of The Movement it comes on Thursday night
