So when I hear this phrase “You Need A Man” I often say to myself “why” but then I always smile and walk away. The people that say that are usually newly engaged couple, married people, people in relationships, it’s as though they don’t believe that single people can be happy.
Being single has made me the most happiest I have ever been. Years ago I was that woman who was always in a relationship because I was afraid to be alone and I had low self esteem which led me to date men who were manipulative. I knew I was just settling for whatever I felt I deserved. . After my last relationship ended I began to heal myself from the inside out.
Although I’m still in the healing phase I do feel happier. Maybe it’s just me but I was miserable in all my relationships. It wasn’t that I didn’t love those men because I did & they took full advantage of my love. I’m learning I don’t need a man to fulfill me or to make me feel loved. I’m enjoying the single life and the quiet times I have at home. I’m not saying I give up on love or marriage. I find I’m more at peace with my new life.
I just would like for those in a relationship to stop thinking that single people are not happy and the other phrase I hate hearing is “you need some dick” because what they forget is I had dick & it came with a lot of unnecessary drama. So just because you may need dick all the time & a man doesn’t mean everyone else does & now there are toys that do a better job than any man could.
I know one day I will be in a relationship but it will be a healthier one & one that will benefit both of us. All I’m saying that if you are ever among the single people just know that some of us are very content with our single life.
